We’re excited to partner with the NFL FLAG Football Program to bring youth flag football leagues to the Aurora, Arvada-Duncan, and Southwest YMCAs! Join us for an action-packed season where kids can learn the game, build skills, make friends, and have fun in a safe, non-contact environment.
About the League
At the YMCA, we believe sports are about more than just the game. Our NFL FLAG Football leagues help kids grow physically, emotionally, and socially while building confidence, teamwork, and healthy habits that last beyond the season.
Players will participate in age-appropriate practices and games focused on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a positive and encouraging atmosphere.
What to Expect
Skill Development
Players will learn the fundamentals of flag football including passing, catching, route running, defense, agility, and game strategy through fun and engaging drills.
Teamwork & Sportsmanship
Our leagues emphasize respect, fair play, teamwork, and character development both on and off the field.
Confidence Building
Kids will gain confidence as they develop new skills, build friendships, and experience success in a supportive environment.
Volunteer Coaches
Our volunteer coaches are dedicated to creating a positive experience focused on skill-building, encouragement, and YMCA core values.
League Information

Please note: Divisions are intended to be gender-specific whenever possible. However, the YMCA reserves the right to combine divisions into coed teams or leagues if there are not enough participants to form full boys or girls divisions.

Welcome to the YMCA NFL Flag Football Program at the Arvada-Duncan & Southwest YMCAs! Below are some frequently asked questions to help you get ready for the season.
The YMCA NFL Flag Football program offers an exciting, non-contact football experience where kids can learn and develop skills in a fun, supportive, and safe environment. This league focuses on teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development while giving children the chance to play flag football in a positive setting.
The program is open to children ages 8-14. We offer Boys and Girls divisions based on age groups (8-11 and 11-14) to ensure fair competition and skill development. Players of all skill levels are welcome!
The season typically runs for 8 weeks. Exact dates will be provided at the time of registration.
All practices and games for the NFL Flag Football program are held at either the Southwest YMCA or Arvada-Duncan YMCA on the designated flag football fields.
- Practices are held once a week, typically on weekday evenings.
- Games are played on Saturdays. The schedule will be shared upon registration.
Players must wear:
- Athletic shorts/pants
- Mouthguard (required for all participants)
- Cleats (optional but recommended)
- Flag football belt (provided by the YMCA)
Note: Jerseys will be provided as part of the program registration.
