Kids and families are invited to two free community events to celebrate Healthy Kids Day
On Saturday, April 26, YMCA of Metro Denver is celebrating Healthy Kids DayⓇ at two locations from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. This free, annual event features a variety of family-friendly activities to encourage healthy kids, healthy families and a healthy start to the summer.
- Aurora YMCA: 6100 Kewaunee Way, Aurora, CO 80016
- Southwest Family YMCA: 5181 W. Kenyon Ave., Denver, CO 80236
Sponsored nationally by Peanuts, some featured activities at the two YMCA locations include a bounce house, kids' craft area, turf field activities, yoga, spin class, yard games and more.
“Events like Healthy Kids Day are central to our mission at the Denver YMCA,” said Breezy Bolden, President and CEO of YMCA Metro Denver. “It is so important for kids to stay active over the summer, both physically and mentally. At the Y, we believe in providing resources for families to create healthy habits, no matter the time of year. Healthy Kids Day is a fun, free community-wide event that encourages families to take advantage of all the great summer activities the Y has to offer.”
Tours of the Y Academy preschool will be available at the Southwest YMCA location from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Y Academy preschool provides quality childcare for infants and toddlers and early education preschool for children ages 2.5 to 5. The program is curriculum-focused and family-centered, teaching kids the skills necessary for school and academic success, and building independence and confidence in children.
