| YMCA youth basketball is more than a season — it's a one-hour weekly practice in a real gym, Saturday games with trained referees, an end-of-season tournament for every skill level, and a night at Ball Arena cheering on the Denver Nuggets with your whole team. Your coaches train with Nuggets staff. Your registration covers everything: uniform, refs, pictures, tournament, tickets. Ages 3–14. No tryouts. Everyone plays. |

Frequently Asked Questions
YMCA of Metro Denver basketball leagues cost $180 for members and $230 for non-members per 6–8 week season. The fee is all-inclusive: uniform, referees, weekly indoor practice, Saturday games, an end-of-season tournament, a picture package, and a Denver Nuggets ticket with our Y Night at the Nuggets experience. Financial assistance is available.
Leagues serve ages 3–14 with age-specific divisions for balanced, fun competition. New to the sport? Our 4-week Sports Academy ($55/month members, $85/month non-members) teaches fundamentals with scheduled scrimmages — no league commitment required.
No tryouts and no drafts. Every child makes a team, every child plays, and every team competes in our end-of-season tournament regardless of skill level.
Trained volunteer coaches supported by YMCA sports staff, with season onboarding and weekly practice plans. Our basketball coaches also receive clinics led by Denver Nuggets staff — NBA-caliber training behind every Y team.

YMCA Youth Basketball is a fun and inclusive program that introduces kids to the fundamentals of basketball while building strength, endurance and self-confidence. Whether your child is experienced or just starting out, our program provides a supportive environment to develop their skills.
Camps run for 4 days, ages 6 - 14: An introduction to skills, drills and fun team play includes scrimmage.
Academies run for 4-week sessions, ages 3 - 8: Introduces your child to the game with fun, interactive sessions focused on basic fundamentals.
Leagues run in 6–8 week seasons for children ages 3–14. Each season includes weekly practices, skill development, teamwork, and Saturday games. League starting ages vary by sport, with some beginning at age 3 and others at age 6. To provide the best game-day experience and balanced competition, games for participants ages 8 and older may be scheduled at other Metro Denver YMCA locations or local neighboring gyms and fields.
Academy and Camp families get priority league registration.

No prior coaching experience is required—we provide everything you need to succeed.
